We are quite excited and proud to share a brand-new music video of "Bottom of the World" today. Filmed in front of a burned-out old-growth redwood, “Bottom of the World,” takes a playful look at existential questions and celebrates the universal mystery of the human experience.
The second of four music videos filmed and directed by Chad Leto, "Bottom of the World" has become one of our favorites to perform live. The location, a burned-out but still very much alive redwood tree in a protected old-growth grove near the Pacific Ocean in Occidental, CA, is a fitting backdrop for the song’s poetic themes of mortality, resilience, and acceptance: “High above the treetops / Dancing through the sky / One little speck of stardust is flying high / It doesn’t have the answers / But it’s carrying the truth / We all burn up in destruction when our flight is through.”
We hope that you find your own meaning in this simultaneously serious and silly song. We hope you enjoy watching, and we'd love it if you help us spread the word!
p.s. Have you seen the first video we made with Chad of our song "Henry & Robin?" Check it out here.
